A Message from the Director
For those of you returning, get ready for another exciting year. For those new recruits, welcome! You have just become members of an extremely active and successful theatre program. To our deeply loyal and faithful fans, thank you for standing by us through our rebuilding years, staff changes, graduations, production choices, and helping us make dreams come true every year! Together, Englewood, we are blessing the world through the dramatic life altering power of the arts!
As the Director of Theatre my goals are to:
1. To foster an environment built on the principles of L.O.V.E.E: Listen, Observe, Value, Encourage and Enjoy
2. Maintain a healthy family environment where students are free to grow through new experiences by challenging their minds, building/maintaining friendships, improving teamwork, and experiencing personal and group triumphs.
3. Continue the tradition of excellence that has been established in Lemon Bay Theatre for almost 30 years.
LBHS Theatre Department Mission Statement To entertain the community while creating a comfortable environment that promotes personal growth through motivation, fun, creativity and dedication.
To my students- I think you will find that THEATRE is an art form that has tremendous rewards for those who work hard. Actors and actresses, the musicians, the technical crew, the parents, teachers, the audience members, and everyone involved will appreciate the hard work and efforts of all. It takes a very dedicated team to make everything happen!! When you become active…your life will change and you will make lasting friendships. You will work harder than ever, but the rewards are worth it! Our play schedule allows both maximum and minimal involvement for everyone. Opportunities will always be announced so stay informed. Remember we are here to bring the experience of theatre to our school, our community, and ourselves. HAVE FUN!!
I am truly looking forward to an incredible year filled much laughter, joy, and growth.
Theatrically Yours,
Jennifer Kelly

Presidents' Remarks
Hey all you Thespians!
Last year we were part of what some may have called a “dream.” We traveled from Englewood to Tampa, from Punta Gorda to Nebraska. We truly exemplified the Thespian Motto: “Act well your part, there all the honor lies.” However, with a new school year here, it’s OUR time to start over- “A New Beginning.”
In conjunction to a new beginning, we encourage you to take part in the numerous fundraisers, shows, Festivals, and camps that are planned this year! It’s our hope to make them fun, rewarding and profitable.
This year is not a "Mainstage year", which means we are not auditioning a full length for the Florida State Thespian Festival as we did with The Wedding Singer, but we know have many options to choose from as a troupe. From IE pieces to our One Act (and to be the first group to get a superior on a one act at stateJ) our year is up to you.
Troupe 0257 has come a long way, our District and State pieces are doing very well, our shows are bragged about to new members of the community and we’ve won six One Acts in a row, had 4 State Mainstages, and one International Mainstage! We have a lot to live up too, but with the talent we have this year we’ll have no trouble meeting the challenge. We look forward to a great year with you all and always remember, STAY INVOLVED AND KEEP DREAMING, that’s what makes you who you are.
And remember we ARE a family. Let us stay positive and work together to make it a great year for all of us.
Thespian Presidents 2009-2010.
